Message from Mayor Mark-Paul Serafin

As our nation turns a page on political history....Our own village looks to the future on how to best provide services & safety.

Fayetteville Mayor Mark Olson and I have been working tirelessly on the creation of a fire district that consolidates the Manlius & Fayetteville Fire Depts. I want to publicly thank Town Supervisors Mark Tetley from Manlius, and Carol Marsh from Pompey, for their cooperative efforts. All of our respective board members have also been active in the development of this fire district.

The Manlius Fire Dept. Facilities Committee is working simultaneously to look at the condition and needs of our fire facilities. There have been several public hearings and a formal presentation to the village board is forthcoming on their findings and recommendations.

Our Board of Trustees adopted the Vision Manlius Comprehensive and Economic plans which will have a positive impact on our village. The Vision Manlius Steering Committee continues to work on the zoning plan and welcomes input from all who want to have a voice in the growth of our village.

The outlook for our fine village is bright.........

One only needs to look at Limestone Commons (formally Smith's Plaza) and newly renovated Manlius Mart to see the proof. The Saucy Swan and Cafe 119 are both open for business. The Christ Church expansion is underway and the new SECNY Federal Credit Union building has just received NYS Department of Transportation approval for curb cuts. The redevelopment of the former Express Sales property is also progressing as well.

All of these efforts and projects are going to help make the Village of Manlius an even better place to live and work.

Sincerely,
Mayor Mark-Paul Serafin
