Mayor's Message
Welcome to the website of one of the best-kept secrets in Central New York, the Village of Minoa, home for 3,345 residents. We are a quiet but growing bedroom community that thrives on its community spirit. The education for our children is provided by the East Syracuse-Minoa School District, one of the eleven (11) comprehensive school districts in New York State.

The Village of Minoa is located in the eastern suburbs of Onondaga County and within the Town of Manlius. We have easy access to three interstate highways, Routes I-90 (NYS Thruway, I-81, and I-690. We are ten (10) minutes from major shopping malls and twenty (20) minutes from the professional opportunities and cultural events that the greater Syracuse area has to offer.

The Village provides its residents with many services and police protection is provided for by the Town of Manlius. Minoa is still a hidden gem with no major routes going through it and no traffic lights to deal with. If the Village of Minoa looks like a place where you like to live and raise a family, the new residential development “Minoa Farms” might just meet your needs.

I have been involved in this community since my wife, Phyllis and 
our family moved here in 1971. We raised two children in this wonderful,
 quiet community. Some children raised here considered Minoa to be 
too quiet; however, it is interesting to observe the number of these 
children that have chosen to return to start their own families. I am a 
firm believer that to be an effective Board member you need to participate
 in the community in a variety of ways and being involved in the community
 helps to give one the experience and insight into the daily decisions that 
must be made for managing the Village. A Mayor today not only has to 
oversee the total operation of the Village, but also has to keep track of all 
mandates dictated by larger government, have the ability to negotiate with 
government agencies and politicians, and be able to recruit business 
and development. I am presently serving as President of the Onondaga 
County Mayors Association. The Mayors Association addresses many 
political issues with a bigger voice. I am very proud of what we have been 
able to accomplish in the last three years through the efforts of the Board 
and my whole staff. It certainly has been a team effort.
